5 Steps to begin your volunteer career at MiB

These tips are the easiest way to start your active career:

1: Sign up to be active and join the MiB Actives group on Google Groups.

This will get you added to the MiB Active Register and the Active mailing list and give you access to the necessary active materials.

2. Get to know the actives in your local chapter and/or team.

The best way to meet them is through your chaptesr’ own communication channel for actives, which you can find out about from your HR leader or team leader.

3. Participate in local and/or task-specific induction.

Local and task-specific inductions will go through MiB's local activities, how to organise events and your tasks from a local perspective. Your local HR leader will tell you more about local induction and the timetable.

4. Take part in the national virtual training or watch a recording of the training.

MiB employees organise a general virtual orientation on the association's activities every month. The orientation lasts one hour. See the training schedule.

You can also watch the virtual orientation recordings independently and at your own pace. The orientation is divided into five parts, each lasting approximately 3-5 minutes.

5. Organise a MiB event!

The most rewarding and educational way to learn about MiB is to organise an event. You can either come up with the idea yourself or go along with someone else's idea. It's easy to organise an event, especially with the help of a more experienced colleague, so it's worth getting actively involved in the community forums. And hey, anyone can organise an event, whatever their role!

The rest is up to you <3

Your skills and your desire to develop will drive you forward in your MiB career.
