The MiB International project is coming to an end on 31.8.2024. Our members will still be able to participate in multilingual events and seminars organised by volunteers, especially in the Uusimaa and Pirkanmaa regions.
Resilience for parents from MiB HUB: Balancing stress and resources
What kind of resilience do non-Finnish speaking mothers in Finland need? A new concept, the MiB HUB for parents was launched in spring 2024 to figure this out. Participants with small children got to meet continuously, network and create their balance for career and family. The results showed that their experienced stress was reduced as a result.
Promoting Inclusion in the Workplace
MiB’s fifth DE&I seminar, this time hosted in collaboration with KPMG, offered a unique opportunity for multicultural MiB mothers and HR experts to engage in discussions around inclusive leadership on May 8th, 2024.
The seminar was opened with an inspiring talk by Yumi Oishi, a DE&I expert at Rovio. Yumi shared her story as an international professional who relocated to Finland with her spouse, and built a career in diversity work within the new environment.
Balancing two roles: motherhood and demanding academic career
Two early career social science researchers, Jawaria and Heidi got to know each other through the MiB network and quickly found that they had much in common.
Shared personal ambition to do research lead into regularly meeting with a cup of coffee, talking about career and kids. This blog is the continuation of their first blog.
